Refrozen- Sequel to Frozen

Just yesterday, Disney announced the planned release of Refrozen, the sequel to their blockbuster hit Frozen (2013).

Disney was criticized by those who saw the screening of the new movie for using the same clips for the hit songs Let It Go and Do You Want to Build a Snowman. After many terrible evaluations and Twitter comments about this–some from Roger Ebert and even Betsy Sharkey, two well respected movie columnists–Disney eventually came to admit that they had used the same clip in interest of saving time and money.

Many film critics enjoyed the 2013 hit, calling it a “wonderfully enchanting winter fare” and  “a new Disney classic.” Sharkey of the LA Times simply put it: “Frozen is fabulous.”

The reviews for Refrozen are completely different. Some called it “revolting” and “very appalling.” Sharkey even said it was “frozen in time,” and that “Disney has host their creative edge.”

“Personally, I think that it’s not the recordings that matter, it’s the content of the actual script. And the script I wrote was amazing” said Jennifer Lee, the screenwriter of Frozen and Refrozen, “and correct me if it’s not, but I thought a story line with a similar plot and the same characters would be wonderful.”

The vice-president for Disney’s financial planning said differently, after being pestered by numerous reporters for the truth. “My boss said we needed to change our financial strategies because we hadn’t reached our financial goal for next years movie. I thought Frozen was a hit, bringing in $1.2 billion, so why not make another one like it?” Brent Woodford said.

A fan that went to a public preview of the movie said, “I really like the new songs, For the Second Time in Forever.”

All that is really worth watching from Disney’s new movie: Refrozen.
